Welcome to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. This year our festival is filled with great delights - wonderful performances, free events, and lots of fun - as well as workshops, master classes and informative demonstrations.
It is a special year for us, one in which we have focused on the Oregon Shakespeare Festival mission not only to bring nationally and internationally renowned artists into our midst, but to give back to the community through free events and community partnerships designed to showcase local artists.
The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is set to enrapture festival lovers once again. Our venue will leave you fascinated, captivated and enthralled. With performances ranging from classic to contemporary, traditional to avant-garde, each act will inspire you to greater heights.
Oregon Shakespeare Festival Founded in 1937 by a local drama professor, the festival has grown from a couple of shows to nine months of dramatic performances on three stages. The performance quality here rivals that anywhere in the country, and they won the Tony Award for Regional Theatre to prove it.
With a theater capacity of about 2,000 people, the festival doesn't stress this town of 20,000 as much as you might think, and things are quite calm even when it's almost showtime. However, it doesn't hurt to arrive early and make dinner reservations to ensure a trouble-free evening.
